The analysis of the main requirements of regulatory documentation of Ukrainian power system, standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEEE), which are related to high-voltage circuit breakers and depict their nominal values, field performance data, monitoring systems selection and application, researching, analysis and failures reporting has been made. The urgency and importance of updating and harmonization of regulatory maintenance for high-voltage circuit breakers and their monitoring with international standards has been shown.
