The frequency spectrum of magnetization current, which is excited in addition to the nominal current in the winding of the higher voltage, were defined. Calculations of the magnetic field, losses, as well as heating of windings, structural elements and tank confirmed the thermal resistance of the five-core transformer with a capacity of 630 MBA to the action of geomagnetic inducted currents. Key words: transformers; geomagnetic induced currents; losses; temperature rises; calculations.
