A comparative analysis of electromagnetic processes and principles of construction of the pretransformer part of high-voltage magnetic-semiconductor pulse generators (MSGI) is performed with parallel, parallel-sequential and parallel-charge-exchange links of pulse compression. It is shown that the optimization of PTP generators is fundamental for solving the problems of increasing efficiency and improving other key indicators of MSGI. It was found out that the solution of these problems is most fully realized when using a PTP generator with a parallel-charge-exchange link. The provisions of the concept of increasing the MSGI efficiency are formed. References 12, figures 6.
